are your office hours?
Monday-Friday our office is open from 8am to5:30pm.
Saturdays we're open from 8:00am to 2pm.

I have to have an appointment?
Appointments are preferred, walk in are also welcome.

Is
someone there through the night?
Gateway Animal Hospital are open during the week all
the way 8am until 5:30pm. Patients needing after hour
care are referred to Central Veterinary Emergency Clinic
& Animal Emergency Room (ANIMAL E-R).

Can
I just drop my pet off & pick her up after work?
Drop off appointments can be be made during doctor hours.
A form will need to be filled out along with an available
phone number. Drop off appointments are limited to existing
clients only.

you take credit cards?
Yes, American Express, Discover, Master Card and VISA.

What
does a physical exam include?
A physical exam is very important to
better ensure pet's health. The exam includes the doctor
checking your pet's eyes, ears, mouth/gums, teeth, lungs,
heart skin and body temperature.

When
Can I make payments?
Payment is required at the time services are rendered.

What
do I feed my puppy or kitten?
Puppies and kittens need a good source of protein and
vitamins to help with their development and growth.
This can be achieved by feeding them a puppy or kitten
maintenance diet until they are one year of age.

How
soon can I bath&flea dip my pet?
Puppy over 8 weeks of age can be bathe & Dip. Under
8 weeks can be only bathe with mild shampoo.
No dip for are approved. Kitten over 8 weeks and Cat
can only be bathe with flea & tick shampoo.
- Is it all right to feed
my dog bones?
Milk bones and chews only, real animal
bone's sharp edges can cause laceration to intestinal
tract , making it dangerous to animal's health.

How
old must my pet be in order to be spayed or neutered.?
We recommend spaying and neutering your pet at 6 months
of age. Vaccinations are also required at the time of
surgery.

long is a cat's pregnancy?
Female gestation in cats normally last
65 days.

long is a dog's pregnancy?
Female gestation in dog normally last 63 days.

I When
cat declawing should it be done?
Cat declawing can be done as early as 3 months of age
and or can be done at the same time your pet is being
spayed or neutered at 6 months.

When
does a cat/dog go into heat?
About 6 month of age, depending on animal health.

Can my
pet be spayed during heat?
Yes, the surgical procedure can be done at this time.
Surgery during heat cycle takes longer than normal spay.
Therefore will be an additional fee of $25.00-$30.00
.

Shouldn't
I let my pet have at least one litter?
No, there is no advantage in allowing your pet to have
a litter.

How
long do sutures stay in?
14 days.
- Do you have a boarding
kennel?
Yes we do have a heated and Air conditiond Kennel. Dogs
are required to have DHLP-Parvo, Rabies and Bordetella
within a year.
Cat are required to have FVRCP-C & Rabies within a
year. Please make reservations in advance especially during
the holidays as space fills quickly.

What
are your boarding facilities like
Our Kennel is indoor air conditioned and heated. Medium
to Large are kept individually in a indoor run (8' X
3.5') during most of the times. In morning and after
we let play and get fresh air individually out door
run of size of 4' X 10'.

Can
I bring in my pet's own food, bed and toy?
We feed purina dog chow to dogs and frisky or nine lives
to cats, but you are
welcomed to bring in your pet's own food, bed, toys,
treats and blankets. We want to make sure your pet is
comfortable for it's stay.
